Lauren does… the faux fringe
Ever been tempted to get a fringe? Yep, me too, especially after models at the Miu Miu S/S ’13 show (below) took to the catwalk sporting super-cute short bangs. But when it actually came to having the chop, the thought alone sent shivers down my spine. I can’t even commit to Saturday-night plans, let alone a drastic cut.
Luckily, I found the answer – the Hair By Sleek Hair Couture Synthetic Front Fringe, £7.05. You simply choose the one that best matches your hair colour and clip it in. But before you attach it, ensure your parting is in order – centre works best – otherwise the hairpiece can look unbalanced and Donald Trump-esque. Once it’s in place, use a brush or your fingers to blend the fringe with your hair until it looks natural.
Before I’d even snapped shut the clips, I was so happy I hadn’t lopped off my locks – I hated it! I’d aged 10 years and looked like my mother (sorry, Mummy Ezekiel!). But that’s the beauty of fake fringes – they’re the perfect way to try before you trim.

Insider’s tip
Want va-va-voom eyelashes, but can’t find your curlers? No problem – simply heat a clean teaspoon with your hairdryer for five seconds and hold it up to your lashes for a heated-roller effect. The result? Added volume and curl in a flash. Finish with a slick of your fave mascara and you’ll be ready to flutter.
Having a moment…
Abbey Crouch
Breakouts are a bummer – you want to let skin breathe, but can’t face the world make-up free. Time to take a tip from Abbey Crouch, whose beauty BFF is Witch Anti-Blemish BB Beauty Balm, £6.99. It contains eight per cent witch hazel to treat blemishes, plus it hydrates and provides enough coverage for all-day confidence. Phew!

I’m mad about gel manis, but recently I’ve not had time to sit in the salon for hours. So I was uber-excited about Nails Inc’s new range of polishes, which give a gel-like, chip and fade-resistant finish, minus the UV lamp. This statement pillar-box red is my absolute fave.
